The mBridge project, aiming for cross-border CBDC payments involving Thailand, Hong Kong, China, and the UAE, is set to launch in production next year. The ECB has advanced its digital euro project to the next phase, following a two-year investigation into its design and distribution. This phase, starting on 1 November 2023, will span two years and focus on finalizing rules and choosing platform providers.

Anthropic and the Collective Intelligence Project ran a public input process with ~1000 Americans to draft an AI constitution. Stanford researchers introduced the “Foundation Model Transparency Index”, evaluating the transparency of AI foundation models from companies like OpenAI and Google.

UBS commits to an annual CHF 2 million funding and shares its expertise, reinforcing Switzerland's prominence in quantum research.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has unanimously approved major VR hardware companies to operate devices at the 6GHz wireless band without a license.


▶ [𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡] A new Stand.earth report “Why IT Companies Can and Need to Do More to Reduce Supply Chain Carbon Emissions” compared the climate initiatives of tech giants, revealing Apple as the frontrunner in urging suppliers to adopt renewable energy. Big Tech accounts for 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, surpassing the aviation industry.
